It all started in 2012…
We met each other on the first day of freshmen orientation at Azusa Pacific University. We just so happened to have an 8AM weight training class together (we know, not your normal beginnings).
Our friendship blossomed while running, much to Adam’s surprise (He’d never been a runner). It was through these countless evening runs that our friendship grew into romance, and in April of 2013 we started dating!
It was clear early on that our relationship was something special. After the summer of 2013 we started having conversations about getting married. Of course, we needed lots of help (#thankyouparents). A few weeks and a lot of conversations later we had the green light from everyone we respected.
Not wanting to waste much time but still needing to buy the ring, Adam finally proposed in November. After some awesome pre-marital counseling, insane wedding planning, and a lot of excitement we said “I do” in Eugene, Oregon on July 27, 2014.
We spent our first two years of marriage navigating life as newlyweds and students. We hunted down our first apartment, shared a car, took internships, spent five months studying abroad in South Africa, worked at Old Spaghetti Factory together, and finally graduated in May, 2016.
After graduation we decided to test out our parenting skills by getting a puppy. Little miss Harley joined our family in June and absolutely owns our hearts. We are currently living in the Seattle area where Adam is attending graduate school and Claire is working as a nurse. We are loving living in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy hiking, backpacking, and exploring with Harley leading the way.
We are currently attending Reach Church near Seattle and love their heart to embody the gospel in everyday life.
We can’t help but say THANK YOU for allowing us into your life through this blog. We wholeheartedly believe marriage is one of the primary adventures God uses to shape His kids into more whole and holy people.
We know marriage isn’t something you master, it’s something you intentionally cultivate. So here’s to cultivating lifelong love.
Here’s to walking together in faith as we dive into the messy mystery of the two becoming one. Would you let us join you? Let’s tackle the tough questions, encourage each other to keep fighting, and even help each other out with practical advice.
Covenant marriages are worth it!
P.S. We’re aware that there are several blog posts from people who aren’t named Claire and Adam. These are close friends and fellow marriage lovers who have courageously shared some of their experiences with us. We highly encourage you to go check them out! Just recently, however, the team decided to change it up and now we head up the effort!
